Guildhawk is pleased to announce it is an official supporter of International Fraud Awareness Week 2024 (17-23 November). Started in 2000, the week champions the proactive fight on fraud to help safeguard individuals and businesses from the growing problem.

Fraud is estimated to cost the UK economy as much as £200bn each year. David Clarke, director and chief security officer at Guildhawk, said

“Fraud destroys lives and livelihoods. As a former fraud investigator, I have seen all too often the devastating impact fraud can have on individuals, businesses, and charities. At Guildhawk, we’re committed to playing our part in protecting our colleagues, clients, friends, and family from the scourge of fraud. That’s why we’re supporting this year’s Fraud Week.”

Guildhawk joins hundreds of organisations who have partnered with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world's largest anti-fraud organisation, for the yearly campaign. During the week, official supporters will engage in various activities to highlight the problem of fraud.

ACFE president John Gill, J.D., CFE, said that the support of organisations around the world helps make Fraud Week an effective tool in raising anti-fraud awareness.

“Fraud is an issue that unfortunately affects people from all walks of life around the world and it takes many forms,” said Mr Gill. “Whether it’s a trusted employee stealing from a small business, or organised rings of fraudsters targeting seniors in our community, most people know someone who’s been victimised by fraud. That’s why it’s so important for organisations to join in this fight together to raise awareness during this week. It is a serious problem that requires a proactive approach toward preventing it and educating people is the first step.”
