Monex chooses GAI technology for secure high volume legal translations

When financial services firm Monex Europe needed the urgent translation of almost 25,000 words of complex legal material within a few hours, its legal team contacted Guildhawk for immediate assistance.

“Guildhawk has been our official language partner since 2015. We use them regularly for secure translations to support our multilingual due diligence and regulatory compliance functions. Communicating across borders

As a commercial foreign exchange specialist, Monex Europe helps its clients to transact foreign exchange business, manage their exposure, and make payments. The nature of their business means that Monex often needs to translate confidential legal documents into various languages with high precision.

“While most of our translation work is pre-planned, we recently received an urgent request for the same-day translation of a significant amount of legal content to support the delivery deadline for a website,” says Dean. “The nature of the content meant we simply couldn’t compromise on quality.”

Automated translations save the day

For speed, the Guildhawk team used machine translation software to translate the content for Monex. Completed translations were then sent to certified linguists for expert review.

This combination of machine translation and expert human review meant that translations could be completed 75% faster than manual translation alone.

Once reviewed by linguists the verified translations were delivered on a rolling basis throughout the day so that the Monex legal team could meet their deadline.

“The speed and precision of machine translation, combined with expert linguistic review, meant we were able to deliver our project on time. It was reassuring to know that the team at Guildhawk were managing the project and had our back,” says Dean.

Precision translations for greater efficiency

Upon completion of the project Guildhawk added the verified translations to the AI dataset specifically created to help inform localisation of Monex content. This means that the accuracy of future translations will also improve.
