Training AI to fight fake news

In support of this year’s International Fraud Awareness Week 2024 (17-23 November), Guildhawk has today released a short webinar on the use of AI to fight fake news.

Featuring two of Guildhawk’s in-house AI experts, the webinar explores the problem of fake news and misinformation online, how ethical AI is fighting back to protect us, and outlines the latest innovations to increase trust in AI-generated content. (Video below 📽️).

Speakers:

  • Dr Francimaria Nascimento is an expert in advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning who has developed natural language processing (NLP) solutions and machine learning models for fake news detection.
  • Shashwat Upadhyay is an expert in data science and machine learning who has co-authored research on fake news detection.

The webinar is chaired by director and chief security officer David Clarke, who is a former head of the City of London Police Fraud Squad. Mr Clarke said: “We know that criminals are always quick to adopt new technologies to exploit people, but in the right hands technology is also a powerful weapon in the fight against online threats.”
